Ancient Office, Enduring Legacy
The Oloja of Lagos title occupies a revered place in the city’s traditional hierarchy. Within the King Kosoko lineage, the title is deeply symbolic, reflecting the legacy of King Kosoko, whose reign remains a defining chapter in Lagos history. The declaration of an Oloja by the family is therefore both a cultural duty and a reaffirmation of ancestral continuity.
