Pastor Foluke Adeboye: No Regrets Throwing My Expensive Jewelleries Into The Lagoon After I Became Born Again

Pastor Foluke Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has drawn attention after a resurfaced video revealed the sacrifice she made after becoming born again.

The video, which first surfaced about two years ago, has recently gone viral, sparking fresh conversations online about faith, sacrifice and personal conviction.
In the clip, Adeboye recounted how she disposed of her gold jewellery at a time when wearing earrings and similar items was discouraged within the church.
She explained that before her conversion, she had a strong interest in fashion and owned valuable gold items, including some she had prepared for her child.
“The moment we were born again in RCCG, it was a taboo for you to have earrings. So everything, I dropped it in the lagoon, which my mother’s friend came and asked me, you should have given all these to your mother.”
Adeboye noted that despite being advised to give the jewellery to her mother instead of discarding them, she stood by her decision.
“Whatever is not good for me is not good for my mother.”
Reflecting on the moment, she said she has no regrets, adding that her faith journey required total commitment.
“I don’t miss anything, not much, because I have already sold my life,” she added.
